About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Preconstruction to lead planning, estimating, budgeting, and project development activities for commercial and infrastructure construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing preconstruction operations, coordinating with internal teams and clients, and ensuring projects are strategically planned before execution.

Role Overview:

As the Director of Preconstruction, you will manage estimating teams, oversee bid preparation, evaluate project feasibility, and support business development efforts. The ideal candidate should have strong construction management experience, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and project planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead preconstruction planning and estimating activities for construction projects

• Oversee conceptual budgeting, cost analysis, and bid preparation processes

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders

• Review project drawings, specifications, and contract documents

• Develop project schedules, procurement strategies, and resource plans

• Manage risk assessments and value engineering initiatives

• Support business development and client relationship management activities

• Ensure accuracy in project estimates, timelines, and proposal submissions

• Lead and mentor estimating and preconstruction teams

• Maintain compliance with company standards, regulations, and project requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field

• 10+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction management

• Strong understanding of commercial and infrastructure construction processes

• Experience managing budgets, bids, and large-scale project planning

• Proficiency in estimating software and construction management tools

• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills

• Knowledge of procurement strategies, scheduling, and contract administration

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
